Privacy Policy

Your Bucket List Company LLC (“Your Bucket List,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, mobile application, web application, membership services, and related features (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect the following categories of information. Some of these apply only to the mobile application, which is not yet available.

Waitlist signup

When you join our waitlist through our website, we collect your first name, email address, and city. We use this to notify you when Your Bucket List launches, to send early-access and launch updates, and to understand which areas to launch in next.

Our waitlist form includes a hidden field used solely to detect automated submissions. It is not used to identify you.

Business and partner applications

If you apply to have your business featured, we collect information about the business — its name, city, website or social profiles, public review listing, category, and your description of it — together with your name, email address, and phone number as the person applying.

You may also upload up to five photographs of the business. Photographs can carry embedded metadata, which may include the location and device the photograph was taken with. If you would rather not share that, remove the metadata before uploading.

Partner subscriptions

If you become a paying partner, your subscription is created and billed through our membership platform and its payment processor. We receive your subscription status, tier, start and renewal dates, and a transaction identifier. We do not receive or store your full card number — that is handled by the payment processor under its own privacy policy.

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, authentication credentials, account preferences, and membership or subscription status. Passwords are stored using appropriate security protections and are not accessible to us in plain text.

Location information — mobile application

With your permission, the mobile application may collect or access location information from your device to display experiences near you, show nearby businesses and attractions, provide map-based features, calculate approximate distances, and personalize recommendations.

Depending on your device settings and permissions, this may include approximate or precise location. You can control location permissions through your device settings, though some features may not function properly if location access is disabled. Our website does not request device location.

Photos, videos, and user content

You may voluntarily upload photographs, videos, profile images, or other media to document completed experiences, share them where applicable, participate in app features, customize your profile, or submit content to us.

You should only upload content you have the right to share. If your content includes other identifiable people, you are responsible for obtaining any permission required to share it.

Bucket list activity — mobile application

We may collect information about how you interact with the application, including items you save, experiences you mark as completed, favorites, badges or achievements earned, searches, categories viewed, businesses or destinations viewed, challenges participated in, and other interactions with app features. This supports your account features and improves recommendations.

Device and usage information

We and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as device type, operating system, application version, browser type, IP address, device identifiers, pages or features viewed, dates and times of access, crash and performance information, and general usage data. This is used to maintain, secure, analyze, and improve the Services.

2. How we use your information

We may use information we collect to:

• Manage the waitlist and notify you when we launch

• Review business applications and contact applicants about them

• Create and manage your account, and provide membership features

• Process and manage subscriptions

• Save your progress and provide location-based recommendations, maps, and related functionality

• Provide badges, achievements, challenges, and other interactive features

• Personalize your experience

• Communicate with you about your account and provide customer support

• Send service-related notifications, and marketing communications where permitted

• Analyze usage and performance, and improve and develop new features

• Detect fraud, abuse, and security threats

• Enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations

3. Location data

Location is an important feature of the mobile application, because the Services are designed to help people discover things to see, do, try, and experience.

We will request permission before accessing device location information when required by your device or applicable law. Location information may be shared with service providers that help us provide mapping, navigation, analytics, or location-based functionality.

We do not sell precise geolocation information. You may disable location access through your device settings, although doing so may limit certain features.

4. Photos, videos, and user content

Content you upload remains subject to the rights described in our Terms of Service. Depending on the features you use and your privacy settings, content you upload may be visible to other users.

Do not upload sensitive personal information through photographs, videos, captions, or other user-generated content unless you are comfortable with the visibility applicable to that feature.

We may remove content that violates our Terms of Service, applicable law, or the rights of another person.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do use analytics advertising features that may constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, as that term is defined under California law. Section 8 explains what that involves and how to opt out.

Service providers

We use third-party companies to operate the Services. The providers we currently rely on are:

• Outseta (United States) — waitlist and email list, customer records, accounts, subscription management

• Tally (Belgium, EU) — business application forms, including photograph uploads

• Stripe (United States) — payment processing for partner subscriptions

• Framer (Netherlands, EU) — website hosting and built-in website analytics

• Google Analytics (United States) — measures how our website is used: pages visited, traffic sources, and general engagement

• Google Fonts (United States) — delivers the typefaces used on our website; receives your IP address as part of that request

These providers process information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf, and each engages its own sub-processors under its published terms. If you have applied to be featured, your application information is handled by Tally and stored in the European Union.

Business partners and sponsors

We may feature advertisers, sponsors, participating businesses, and promotional partners. We do not provide a business with your personal contact information simply because you view its listing or advertisement.

If you voluntarily interact with a business, redeem an offer, enter a sponsored promotion, request information, or otherwise choose to provide information to a third party, that interaction may be governed by the third party's own privacy practices.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or legal process, respond to lawful government requests, protect our rights or property, investigate fraud or security concerns, protect the safety of users or others, or enforce our Terms of Service.

Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.

6. Advertising and sponsorships

The Services may display sponsored listings, featured businesses, advertisements, promotions, or other paid content. Advertising partners do not automatically receive personally identifiable information about you simply because their advertisement or listing appears in the Services.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to help businesses understand general activity — for example, we may tell a business that a certain number of people viewed its listing, without providing the names or email addresses of those people.

7. Analytics

We use two analytics services to understand which pages are visited, how people navigate the site, and how it performs.

Our website host provides built-in analytics that reports traffic in aggregate. We also use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to recognize returning visitors and reports on traffic sources, pages viewed, and general engagement. Google Analytics processes a truncated form of your IP address to estimate your general location; it does not tell us who you are.

Demographics and interests

We use Google Analytics advertising features, including Google Signals. For visitors who are signed in to a Google account and have Ads Personalization turned on, this allows Google to provide us with estimated age range, gender, and interest categories, and to recognize the same person across the devices they use.

These estimates come from Google's own understanding of that person, built from their activity across Google services and other websites — not from anything you tell us. They are reported to us in aggregate. We do not receive your name, email address, or Google account identity from Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses its own advertising cookies alongside our first-party cookies to produce this reporting.

Your choices

You have three ways to opt out:

• Turn off Ads Personalization in your Google account settings, which stops Google providing these estimates about you to any site.

• Install Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every website.

• Block or clear cookies for our site, as described in section 8.

8. Cookies, local storage, and tracking technologies

Local storage

Our website stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage. This records how you arrived at our site — the campaign parameters in the link you followed and the website that referred you — so that we can understand which channels bring people to us. It stays on your device until you clear your browser's site data.

Cookies

We use the following cookies on our website:

• Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) to recognize returning visitors and measure how the site is used. By default these last up to two years.

• Google advertising cookies. Because we use Google Analytics advertising features, Google's own advertising cookies are used alongside those first-party cookies to produce the demographic and interest reporting described in section 7.

• Account cookies. Our membership platform sets cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate account and subscription features.

We do not run retargeting pixels and we do not sell advertising space on our website. The advertising cookies described above are used for measurement and reporting, not to serve you ads on our site.

How to control it

You can clear local storage and cookies for our site at any time through your browser settings, and you can configure your browser to refuse cookies. Some features, including staying signed in, may not work if you do. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using the browser add-on linked in section 7.

Do Not Track

We do not respond to Do Not Track signals. Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your browser to tell websites you do not wish to be tracked. There is no common industry standard for how to interpret it, and neither our website nor our membership platform acts on it. You can still control tracking through the browser settings described above.

Tracking across other websites

Yes — Google may collect information about your activity across different websites over time through our Services. Because we use Google Analytics advertising features, Google combines what it observes on our website with information it holds from other websites, apps, and Google services, in order to estimate the demographic and interest categories described in section 7 and to recognize you across devices. That activity is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out using any of the three methods in section 7.

We do not authorize any other third party to track you across websites through our Services.

Third-party services that we embed — including our application form provider and our font provider — receive technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver their part of the page, and handle it under their own privacy policies.

9. Email communications

We may send emails related to your account or your application, including verification, password resets, subscription information, security notices, application status, and important service updates.

Where required, with your consent, we may also send promotional communications including new experiences, featured destinations, challenges, special offers, partner promotions, and company news.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages, and we will honor that request promptly. You may continue to receive necessary transactional or account-related communications. Every commercial email we send includes our physical mailing address, shown in section 19.

10. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect our legitimate business interests.

Our current retention practice is:

• Waitlist signups — retained until you unsubscribe, or for 24 monts after launch if you have not created an account.

• Business applications that are not accepted — retained for 12months, then deleted.

• Partner subscription and transaction records — retained as required for accounting and tax purposes.

• Account information — retained while your account is active. See section 11.

• Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we delete or de-identify it subject to applicable legal and technical requirements.

11. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to information we are legally permitted or required to retain. To request deletion, contact us using the details in section 19.

Deleting your account may permanently remove saved progress, uploaded content, badges, favorites, and other account information. Certain information may remain in backups for a limited period, or be retained where required for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or security purposes.

If you joined the waitlist but have no account, you can remove yourself entirely using the unsubscribe link in any email we have sent you.

12. Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain information about how your personal information is used or disclosed, opt out of certain forms of targeted advertising or sale where applicable, and withdraw permissions or consent you have given.

To make any of these requests, email us at Yourbucketlistcompany@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, which we will normally do by confirming control of the email address associated with your information.

You may also control device permissions, including location access, through your device settings.

13. Age requirement

The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or submitting an application, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details in section 19.

14. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no internet transmission, application, database, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and should use a unique, secure one. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly.

15. Third-party links and services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, businesses, ticket providers, reservation systems, maps, social media services, or other external services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

16. App stores and platform providers

If you download or purchase the mobile application through a third-party platform, that platform may independently collect and process information in accordance with its own privacy policy. Your relationship with that marketplace is also subject to its terms.

17. State privacy rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state law. Depending on the law and whether it applies to us, these may include rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and the ability to opt out of certain uses of personal information.

We will process valid privacy requests as required by applicable law, and we will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when revisions were made. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the website, the application, email, or another reasonable method where required.

Your Bucket List is built to encourage people to get out, explore, make memories, and experience more of the world around them. We believe enjoying those experiences should not require giving up control of your personal information.

We will strive to collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate and improve the Services, and to be transparent about how that information is used.
